^^ Osup!
Oopps….I almost forgot that I have a blog. Thanks to the egg custard that made me realize it. Coz I intend to write it down in my blog as my own record. It was my first attempt and it turns out quite okay but it could be better. I did not manage to snap a picture of it as I was too eager to try how does it taste like. The ingredients that I use was pretty simple and it is just right for one serving (you can double up the ingredients as you like depending on your desired no. of servings). Since this is my first time, I was doing it in a very small portion.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of fresh milk (or evaporated milk)
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 4 teaspoons of sugar (or lesser; depending on your personal preference on the sweetness)
Methods:
- Prepare steamer. Boil the water.
- Beat the eggs lightly.
- Add in the sugar and whisk till the sugar dissolves.
- Add in the milk and water and beat the eggs lightly (you can substitute the water with ginger juice if you like to add some flavors to it)
- If there are bubbles, use a paper towel to dab it slowly (slight bubbles are okay so long the surface is smooth).
- Strain the mixture into small bowl and cover it with foil (to avoid the steam of the water to flow in).
- Transfer the bowl to the steamer and steam it for about 10-15 minutes in low or medium heat (avoid using high heat or else your custard will not be smooth and full of holes on the surface).
- Don’t over steam the eggs or else it will be tough.
Try it yourself and enjoy! I gonna make my 2nd attempt very soon and it will definitely be better
